This May, we were proud to join fostering services and communities across the UK in celebrating Foster Care Fortnight 2026, the UK’s largest awareness-raising campaign for fostering.

This year’s theme, “This Is Fostering”, shone a spotlight on the many different experiences, journeys, and people that make fostering so special. It highlighted the incredible impact foster carers have on the lives of children and young people every day, while also showcasing the diversity and individuality of fostering households across the country.

Throughout the fortnight, we took the opportunity to celebrate our amazing foster carers and recognise the dedication, compassion, and commitment they bring to their role. Foster carers provide much more than a safe place to live; they offer stability, encouragement, understanding, and opportunities that help children and young people thrive.

As part of our Foster Care Fortnight activities, we were delighted to host a special foster carer event at our office. The event brought together members of our fostering community for an afternoon of meaningful conversation, reflection, and connection.

During the event, we discussed the importance of Foster Care Fortnight and explored what the theme “This Is Fostering” means to our carers and the children they support. It provided a valuable opportunity to share experiences, celebrate successes, and talk openly about both the rewards and challenges of fostering.

Most importantly, it was a chance for everyone to come together, strengthen relationships, and enjoy spending time with one another. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, positivity, and a shared passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young people.

As Foster Care Fortnight 2026 comes to an end, the message of “This Is Fostering” continues to resonate. Fostering is about creating opportunities, building relationships, and helping children and young people reach their full potential. It is a journey that looks different for every family, but one that is always rooted in care, compassion, and commitment.
